Even though patient are seeing their doctor for a video or in office session, there is a computer glitch where patients’ medications are not showing up at the pharmacy even though the doctor is e-prescribing the meds during session. This is due to the “10% Glitch”. When the doctor sends an Electronic prescription during the patient’s appointment, the pharmacy is not receiving it. Since this is a technical problem, the doctor, doctor’s office, IT at the hospital institute, pharmacy, or patient can’t fix it. We just have to put up with the issue. Thus, the doctor educates patients on this “10% Glitch” and the patient is asked to call the doctor and/or leave a Voice Message indicating neither the patient nor the pharmacy received the medication.
One helpful tip for patients is to sign up for the text message service at the pharmacy where the pharmacy send a text message to the patients when their meds are received and/or ready to pick up.
